Show resultaten / show results:

Kirk entered 5 Nursery Trials and was placed in 4 of them qualifying him to
enter the Inter-District Nursery Trials March 1982 which consists of the 5
Best Dogs from 8 Districts in Scotland.
He also ran at the "Bounce Match"  which is the 10 Best Dogs from 3 Regions
and gained 6th place and was Top Placed Dog for the Central Region.
Kirk was placed at Open Trials.
Ran twice at the Scottish National.
Kirk was a stylish dog at work but quite hard to handle.
Kirk was 1 1st prize Winner at Championship Shows and Qualified for Crufts.
Kirk was also Best In Show 1986 Scottish Branch of the Border Collie Club.

Turner's Lethans Jace at Locheil 168450, the dam to Full Champion Locheil Look North [Nap, owned by Heather Turner]

the first and only dog to date to have this prestigious title.To achieve this honour, Nap not only had to become a Show Champion, but be also had to pass the ISDS/KC Working Test for Border Collies.

1976 & 1981 Scottish National Shepherds Champion & 1977 International Driving Champion

Mirk 2.80772 and Janette's, Kay 91944 - a litter sister to Tony lley's 1983 English Team Member

Goss also sired Thomas Longton's 1993 English National Champion Gern 147666
and Bruee Englefield's popular sire Scott 155064, who was an English National Team Member in
1989. Scott, a great favourite of mine, was the sire of my founding bitch Femleat Jace 212303
who was bred by Sue Lloyd-Davies out of her Little Fern at Jetril 175133.

Kirk and Kay were both raised by Janette's very well known brood bitch Jace 62098.

ISDS 34186 and Gyp 38336, Jace, her littermates
and her full brothers and sisters from repeat matings, have been studied many times with in this series and have become affectionately named by me as the fabullus four'.

 She was a litter sister to W.J.Roekliffe's, Jill 62096 and a full sister from an earlier mating to Tot's Englisb Team Member Gyp 56601 and J.Hadwin's Queen 56602. Jill was the dam of Tot's 1983 International Supreme Champion Jess 88627, Queen was the dam of Raymond MacPberson's 1975 & 1979 International Supreme Champion Zac 66166 and Gyp's daughter Kerry 84022 was the mother of Thomas Longton's wonderful Bess 101142, the 1986 International Supreme Champion and mother herself to the 1992 English National Champion Gern 147666 and the 1987 & 1991 English National
Driving Champion Tweed 140476. 

Tweed's litter sister, Maggie 140478, was the 1985 English National Braes Champion with her mother.

 Jace herself was to sire Dave Carlton's very handsome Tony 66922 who was in tbe English Team in 1976.

Mirk's sire, J.S.MeLaren's Drift 51969, was a maternal grandson ofJ.M.Wilson's favoured sire
Bill 2.17937 who also sired Walter Hetberington's Fly 25005 the dam of two Supreme Champions
- tbe legendary Wiston Cap 31154 and David MeTeir's Wiston Bill 36391. 

Others sired by Bill were J.Bathgate's 1967 International Shepherds' Champion Vic 36235 and Tot Longton's Gyp 38336 the l97l International Driving Champion and Reserve International Supreme Champion.
know Gyp well often tell me of her recentless approach to work and her apparent
unlimited stamina. I often have to remind myself that is why my own Jace 212303, who is line bred back to Gyp five times, doesn't know when to stop!!

Gyp's patemal grandsire was the Scottish dynamo Whitehope Nap 8685 who figures four times within Meg's lines. Sire born self to the immortal Gael 14463 the 1967 International Supreme
Champion, Nap bad a further five of bis offspring running at the 1961 International.

 Gael was a magnifleent worker as her record shows and her breeding record exemplary. She bad four litters,
and from these the seven offspring tbat were to reach International level were to win a National or
International title - an unsurpassed record.
Liz 37009, who also won the 1971 Scottish Shepherds' title and was Reserve Scottish National
Champion for that year, was a daughter of her owner's 1967/68/69 Scottish Team Member Sweep
22666 out of Lyn 31785 who was herself a daughter of A.Chapman's 1966 8~l969 Scottisb Team
Member Garry 19382 wbo played third in tbe Scottish National in 1966 and fifth in 1969. In 1968
Sweep was the Reserve Scottish National Shepherds' Champion and was played third in tbe Scottish
National. In 1969 he was third in tbe Shepherds', as be was in 1967.
Sweep's sire, J.Kirk's Craig 14766, was him self by J.Walker's Cap 7594 out of bis Nell 10398
a daughter of J.M.Wilson's 1955 International Supr.Champion Bill 9040.

 When Bill won bis Supreme, it was Whitehope Nap who was Reserve to him. JiM had a good year that year, as he also took first and second place in the Farmers'. Did he ever have a bad one you may ask?
Sweep's dam Nell 13164 was off very strong breeding, as she descended from R.S.Fraser's
lines. Her sire was Robert's Rob 9913 who was also the sire of bis 1955 English Shepherds'
Champion Mindrum Nell 11106 and her dam was G.Scort's Nan 7487.

Kirk was a great dog, a half white faced dog and did represent at the Scottish National Sheep Dog
Trials.Kirk also represented Border Collies at Crufts. Quite an achievement in itself.  Kirk
was a keen and stylish worker.He was also the grand dad of many inportant Sh.Ch.Border Collies of today.
